Holiday cheer arrived early this year when Santa Claus entrusted his spine care to Dr. Nkrumah of Nkrumah Neurosurgery & Spine. After struggling with back pain that threatened to make his annual rounds tougher than usual, Santa underwent a Minimally Invasive XLIF procedure performed by Dr. Nkrumah at a Long Island hospital on Thursday, November 13.

Just one day after surgery, Santa was already back on his feet—standing proudly and walking in the hospital hallway beside Dr. Nkrumah in a photo shared with our team.

“We’re thrilled to see Santa recovering so well, and so fast” Dr. Nkrumah said. “Helping patients regain comfort and mobility quickly is what these procedures are all about.”

His rapid recovery highlights the power of modern minimally invasive techniques, which are designed to reduce tissue disruption, shorten hospital stays, and help patients return to normal activities faster.

With his back feeling better, Santa is now ready to get back to work preparing for his busiest night of the year.
